Dr. Philip Wimalasena

Philip Wimalasena is Nivalion’s General Counsel and Head of Legal, Compliance and Risk Management. Philip is admitted to the German and Swiss bars and holds law degrees from the University of Cambridge (LL.M.), the University of Frankfurt (Dr. iur, summa cum laude) and Université Lyon II Lumière (licence en droit). Before joining Nivalion, Philip gained dispute resolution experience in the litigation and arbitration departments of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Frankfurt) and Schellenberg Wittmer (Zurich/Geneva). Philip regularly publishes and speaks on dispute resolution issues, including as a lecturer at the German Bar Association (DAV) and the Universities of Frankfurt and Lüneburg, and has been recognised as a WWL Future Leader in Arbitration. He speaks German, English and French.
